Pope Francis condemns 'desperate humanitarian situation' in Gaza

In his Christmas message on Monday, Pope Francis condemned the "desperate humanitarian situation" for Palestinians in Gaza, calling for an end to military operations in the conflict between Israel and Hamas and the release of hostages still held in the region.

The Pope stated, "I renew my urgent appeal for the release of the hostages who are still detained. I implore that military operations and their horrifying repercussions, resulting in the fall of innocent civilian victims, come to an end. I request that the desperate humanitarian situation be addressed by allowing aid delivery."
