South Africa says Israel 'pushed Gaza residents to brink of famine'

A lawyer from the South African delegation to the International Court of Justice stated on Thursday that Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip have pushed the population "to the brink of famine."

Adila Hassim, the lawyer, explained before the International Court of Justice in The Hague that "the situation has reached a point where experts anticipate that a larger number of people will die from hunger and disease" due to direct military actions.
