Lavrov plans to address UN Security Council on peace efforts in the Middle East

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced on Thursday that he intends to deliver a speech before the United Nations Security Council next week regarding proposals for "collective efforts" to resolve the crisis in the Middle East. 

He emphasized that the solution should involve direct talks between the Palestinian and Israeli leaderships and should lead to the establishment of a Palestinian state.
