North Korea expresses gratitude to Russia for ending UN sanctions monitoring imposed on it

North Korea's ambassador to the United Nations expressed his gratitude to Russia on Thursday for exercising its veto power to end the United Nations' surveillance of the sanctions imposed on his country.

Kim Song stated that Pyongyang "greatly appreciates Russia's use of the veto" to prevent the renewal of the mandate of an independent expert committee, considering it an independent exercise of the right to international justice and neutrality.
