Kremlin: Iran informed Putin it does not want further escalation

The Kremlin said on Tuesday that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi informed Russian President Vladimir Putin by phone that the Iranian attack on Israel was limited and that the Islamic Republic does not seek escalation.

The Kremlin added that Putin expressed hope that all parties would exercise restraint and thus avoid sliding into a confrontation that could have "catastrophic consequences for the entire region."
