White House: Washington intends to triple tariffs on Chinese steel and aluminum

The White House announced on Wednesday that US President Joe Biden intends to triple tariffs on imports of Chinese steel and aluminum, condemning 'unfair competition' negatively impacting American workers, six months before the presidential elections.

The White House also stated that the US Trade Representative's Office will open an investigation into 'unfair Chinese practices' in shipbuilding, maritime transport, and logistics activities, in response to requests from several unions in this sector.
