REPORT: No work allowed at Janna Dam site prior to decision issued by cabinet

Environment Minister Mohammad al-Mashnouq sent a series of letters to Prime Minister Tammam Salam, Agriculture Minister Akram Chehayeb, Energy Minister Arthur Nazarian and Mount Lebanon Governor Fouad Fleifel, whereby he expressed his surprise toward “the Agriculture Ministry’s approval to resume cutting off trees in Janna Dam vicinity,” calling on the prime minister to propose the issue before the cabinet as soon as possible in order to take the appropriate decision.

In his letter the Mount Lebanon governor, al-Mashnouq stressed the need to halt any work in Jana Dam site, until a decision is issued by the cabinet in this regard.
