Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah reassured the Lebanese people that all positions launched during the Riyadh summit will be not have an impact on the Lebanese local scene, noting that “the Riyadh declaration is a Saudi-US affair and the majority of the participating nations were not informed of it.”

During a speech he delivered on the Resistance and Liberation Day, Nasrallah praised Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil, saying that “he took a bold, honest and responsible stance,” pointing out that the Riyadh declaration was drafted after the countries’ representatives left.

On the issue of the electoral law, Hezbollah chief declared that “new ideas were registered over the past two days and that could lead to a result.”

Commenting on the security situation, Nasrallah stressed the need to handle outlawed situations in Bekaa, calling on the residents to cooperate with the security forces maintain security and stability.

“The situation in Arsal and the presence of the armed groups should not last,” he stated, urging the residents of the northeastern town and the Lebanese government to deploy the necessary efforts in this regard.

On another note, he urged Lebanese government to reject the deportation of Sheikh Issa Qassem from Bahrain to Lebanon, calling for his release.

Nasrallah slammed Saudi Arabia, saying that “the kingdom needs the US president in order to maintain its role in the region after its failure in Syria, Iraq and Yemen,” accusing it of being behind the radical ideology and Takfiri groups.

“Everyone is aware of this truth and this is why the Saudi regime needs to bribe Trump,” he added.

Addressing the Saudis, Nasrallah said that the only solution is to hold negotiations with Iran, noting that their current path will only lead to spending billions and bloodshed.
