Minister Bou Habib kicks off official visit to the Vatican-[PHOTOS]

Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdallah Bou Habib kicked off on Thursday his official visit to the Vatican with a meeting with the Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin.

 

Discussions focused on the ongoing crisis in Lebanon and the possible solutions, as well as the Vatican’s continuous support to Lebanon’s government and people with the guarantee that Lebanon would dissociate itself from regional conflicts.

 

Minister Bou Habib then met with the secretary for relations with states Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher and discussed with him the support provided by the Vatican to the educational sector and ways to develop it. 

 

The work that the Lebanese government is doing in the sphere of energy, as well as the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund, were also discussed.

 

Archbishop Gallagher, for his part, reaffirmed the Vatican's support for Lebanon, which he plans to visit in the first semester of next year.
