Cabinet ends morning session to study Budget of 2022-[VIDEO]
A Cabinet session dedicated to study and discuss the Budget for 2022 was held on Tuesday morning at the Grand Serail presided by Prime Minister Najib Mikati and attended by all ministers except for Justice Minister Henry Khoury who is abroad.

"We gathered today to discuss the 2022 Budget, just as we agreed on yesterday during the session at the Baabda Presidential Palace," Interim Information Minister Abbas Halabi said after the morning session ended.

He stressed that “the budget is being studied article by article,” adding that “the Cabinet is taking its time on articles that mention economic incentives in the hopes of rebuilding the Lebanese economy.”

"The session will continue until 6:00 p.m. tonight," he said, adding that "additional sessions will be held on Wednesday and Thursday."

"All is being discussed and will be communicated when done," he said when questioned about the custom dollar exchange rate and the new levies.

Finally, he responded to a question about the Finance Minister's special powers, saying that this has yet to be considered because they have only looked at 39 articles so far and will continue after the break.

The cabinet resumed its work in the afternoon by holding another session.
