Nasrallah: I did not accuse lists in Baalbek-Hermel of being formed of Daesh or Nusra groups

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah stressed Wednesday that the relations between Hezbollah and the Free Patriotic Movement is strategic, noting that after the elections, the agreement will continue.

“We do not impose anything on anyone and we tell our allies and friends that disputes will only lead to failure,” he stated.

Commenting on the issue of Baalbek-Hermel, he said that he did not accuse the other electoral lists in said district of being formed of Islamic State or al-Nusra groups, clarifying that he said that some candidates have supported and protected gunmen and prevented the army from finalizing the battle for years.

During his speech, Nasrallah presented his party’s electoral program, stating that it is based on developing the current electoral law, in terms of considering Lebanon as one electoral district and granting the youth the right to vote at age 18.

He added that the electoral program is also based on improving Lebanon’s judicial system, in order to achieve justice and boost the role of supervisory bodies.

“We must keep on working in order to pass the general amnesty law for whoever deserves amnesty; it is not a simple task amid the complications that exist in Lebanon,” he explained.

Hezbollah chief also emphasized the importance of creating a ministry for planning, so that state will follow a defined path and clear targets.

The electoral program, according to Sayyed Nasralla, also includes continuous efforts to pass the law pertaining to administrative decentralization.

“Our program stresses the need to adopt the concept of tenders, thus Hezbollah MPs and ministers will not approve any form of contracting of projects without tenders,” he said.

Nasrallah also revealed that the party has decided to form a special organizational framework within Hezbollah to fight corruption and waste through the ministers, MPs and political leadership.
