Hassan to LBCI: Lift of subsidies will not affect all medicines
Caretaker Minister of Health Hamad Hassan said on Wednesday that the rationalization must be conducted in a thoughtful manner and must exclude medicines for chronic and incurable diseases, explaining that the lifting of subsidies will not affect all medicines.

Hassan’s comments were made during an interview with LBCI’s "Naharkom Said" TV show during which he stressed importance of encouraging the local industry and exports “in order to compensate the imported dollars with the exported one.”

On another note, the caretaker minister said that discussions on subsidizing the medical equipment will start today.

As for Coronavirus vaccine, Hassan noted the vaccines will arrive to Lebanon consecutively in mid-February that when the funds required for payment will be available.
