Lebanese Forces Chief Samir Geagea announced Friday that Ajaj Haddad will be running for upcoming parliamentary elections for the Orthodox seat in Jezzine – Sidon.
Geagea stressed that the parliamentary elections will take place, noting that “the Lebanese people will not accept any delay or failure to hold the parliamentary elections.”
He also stated that “as long as Hezbollah remains in the same situation, we will always feel as if Lebanon is barely a state.”
Commenting on the return of the Syrian refugees, the LF chief emphasized that the decision to return is a sovereign decision, pointing out that when the refugees find out that their return is being coordinated with the regime of Bashar al-Assad, they will abstain from returning, since Assad is the one who caused their displacement.
On the relations with the Syrian government, Geagea said that at all events people call on Lebanon to cooperate with the government of Damascus, asking “is this government that is not recognized by the Syrian people and a number of Arab states?”
