Interior Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq met Friday with President Michel Aoun at Baabda palace, where he declared that he came to express gratitude for the president on his boldness and wisdom in managing the political crisis that was caused by the Nov. 4 resignation of Prime Minister Saad Hariri from Riyadh.
Al-Mashnouq said that “the Lebanese people proved their solidarity during difficult times,” stressing that the country is in a state of stability despite the major crisis and this stability will increase with Hariri’s return.
The minister emphasized that the parliamentary elections will take place. “This is a democratic obligation,” he stated.
