President Aoun meets with heads of states ahead of Islamic Summit in Turkey

President Michel Aoun held meetings Wednesday with Turkish president, Kuwait’s Emir, Iranian president, Palestinian president, Qatar Emir and Jordanian king, ahead of the opening of the Islamic Summit conference held in Turkey.

 

Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah praised the positions of President Aoun, reiterating his invitation to visit Kuwait and discuss means to boost bilateral ties.

 

In turn, King Abdullah al-Thani informed President Aoun of Jordan’s constant support for Lebanon, hailing the president’s stances regarding the Palestinian cause and the recent US move.

 

For his part, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed gratitude to Aoun for accepting the invitation to participate in the extraordinary summit, appreciating his position supporting Jerusalem and Palestinians.

 

Similarly, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani expressed appreciation for President Aoun’s positions towards the Palestinian cause.
