Prime Minister Saad Hariri stressed that the disassociation policy is extremely important, noting that “whoever disrespects this policy will be blamed and any party seeking to achieve stability and Lebanon’s economic interests must abide by said policy.”
Speaking during a conference for Carnegie Middle East Center in Phoenicia Hotel, Hariri said that he will set in place determined measures to guarantee the respect and implementation of the disassociation policy.
“The position of the US and the European countries towards Hezbollah is clear for everybody and everyone is calling for a national dialogue,” he stated, adding that the dialogue must be considered in a serious manner. He emphasized the issue of Hezbollah goes beyond Lebanon and is a regional matter.
Answering a question on electoral alliances, the prime minister said that they will have alliances with different political parties, stressing that he will keep his allies and his current agreement with President Michel Aoun, “who proved to be good for Lebanon’s stability.”
He pointed out that Lebanon is going through difficult conditions on the economic level among others, stressing that the best way is to have political support for Lebanon’s stability.
Asked about the reason behind postponing the interview with marcel Ghanem, he explained that he specifically said that “one day he will have an interview with Marcel but did note decide which day.”
Commenting on the issue of Jerusalem, Hariri stated that the world reacted in the correct way after Trump’s announcement, reiterating that the two-state solution is the only solution for the conflict.
