Patriarch Rai: Leaders are entrusted to secure public good, not personal interests

Patriarch Bechara Rai said on Sunday that the 14 Syrians who died of cold while trying to enter Lebanon illegally is the responsibility of the international community, which does not want for wars to stop in Syria and the neighboring countries.

Rai’s comments were made during his Sunday’s sermon in Bkerke whereby he noted that the International community does not care about “human beings and the safety and dignity of citizens in their home countries.”

“The leaders are entrusted to secure the public good, not only their personal interests,” Rai concluded by saying.
