Defense Minister from Germany: Lebanon is ready to defend its territories

Defense Minister Yacoub Sarraf said on Saturday that Lebanon is "strong with its political leadership and courageous army."

Sarraf’s comments were made during an interview with German TV Channel "Deutsche Welle"on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference held in Germany.

"Lebanon comes today to the most important security meeting in the world. There are many meetings, mainly on the fight against terrorism and the issue of Israeli attacks on Lebanon," he added.

"Without doubt, Lebanon's priorities are to defend its territories, especially the Southern border issues," the minister stressed.

In response to a question about Lebanon's readiness to go to war with Israel to defend its borders and sovereignty, Sarraf said, "Lebanon will not wage war, but it will defend its full sovereignty and we are ready to defend our territories."
