[PHOTOS] Refugee camps in Akkar drowning in water

With the heavy rainfall during the past days, the towns of Akkar have been suffering from floods.

In the village of Talbibiyeh, the water of al-Ostowan River flooded and reached the houses located on ground floors, and rose to 30 centimeters, forcing the residents to evacuate to their relatives’ houses located on higher floors.

The floods also reached agricultural fields, causing damages to crops and properties, the state-run National News Agency reported.

In the village of Qoleiat in Akkar, the strong winds shredded more than 70 tents inhabited by Syrian refugees, not to mention the damages caused by the floods.
