The National Initiative Movement declared Friday that after agreeing with the administration of the “Monroe” Hotel in Beirut to hold the movement’s general conference at the facility on February 24, with around one thousand guests invited from across the Lebanese regions, the movement was informed that the hotel’s administration refuses hosting the event.
The movement issued a statement whereby it noted that “this rejection that came despite a previous approval was due to political pressures used by security officials who asked the hotel to cancel the event.”
The statement added that former MP Fares Soueid and Radwan al-Sayyed will hold a press conference at Soueid’s office on Saturday.
