Interior Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq informed President Michel Aoun of the ongoing preparations for the legislative elections, reassuring him that 70% of the preparations have been completed.
“The current political tension is part of the electoral process and is not supposed to remain after the vote,” he stated from Baabda Palace after his meeting with the president.
Al-Mashnouq also briefed Aoun on the outcome of Rome II conference, noting that the International Community proved its interest in Lebanon’s stability, adding that discussions also tackled the defense strategy.
