Murderer of Lt. Col. Kahil sentenced to 6 months in prison

The Permanent Military Court presided by Brigadier General Pierre Saab sentenced on Thursday murderer of Lebanese Armed Forces Lieutenant Colonel Rabih Kahil to six months in prison and his cousin to one month of prison.

On July 26, 2015, the defendant fired on the ground after having a brawl with Kahil in the town of Bdadoun, injuring him.

Kahil succumbed to his wounds four days after the incident.

In his defense, lawyer Paul Howayek said that Kahil’s murder was not premeditated and was due to negligence.
