MP Ziad Hawat declared Tuesday that agreement has been reached among the members of the “Strong Republic” bloc to vote with a blank ballot during the election of the new parliament speaker, not against Nabih Berri as a person, but for not being convinced with the political line he belongs to.
As for nominating MP Anis Nassar for deputy speaker, Hawat said that the “Strong Republic” bloc is a large bloc that deserves to have its candidate for the seat.
Following his meeting with Maronite Patriarch Beshara Boutros Rai in Bkerke, Hawat said that nominating Saad Hariri for premiership comes within the common grounds they share as parliamentary bloc, stressing that Lebanon needs a national plan to rebuild it.
