Aoun voices hopes that new Parliament would be productive in legislation, monitoring
President Michel Aoun voiced hopes on Wednesday that the mandate of the new Parliament would be productive in both legislation and monitoring.
Aoun’s comments were made after meeting with Speaker Nabih Berri, Vice Deputy Elie el-Ferezli and he newly elected members of the Parliament Secretariat at the Baabda Presidential Palace.
Discussions reportedly featured high over the results of the elections and the next phase, mainly the parliamentary consultations that will be kicked off on Thursday.
Earlier on Wednesday, Berri was re-elected for a sixth term as speaker of Lebanon's parliament in an uncontested vote.
