Merkel wraps up official visit by meeting Aoun

German Chancellor Angela Merkel wrapped up on Friday her official visit to Beirut with a meeting with President Michel Aoun at the Baabda Presidential Palace.

 

This as sources told LBCI that President Aoun told Merkel that Lebanon cannot wait for a political solution to the conflict in Syria in order to see the refugees return to their homeland.

“The experience with the Palestinian refugees is still ahead of us,” he added.

“We do not want to die and the refugees are still here in Lebanon,” he concluded by saying.
