Geagea hails lift ban on Saudi women driving
Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea hailed on Sunday the decision to lift the ban on Saudi Arabia’s women driving.

“Such a decision marks the beginning of a new very important and historic phase in Saudi Arabia, placing the Kingdom on track of development and modernity in all fields,” Geagea noted.

He also stressed that such a decision will “correct the image of Islam that some sides attempted to distort it on purpose.”

The ban's end, ordered last September by King Salman, is part of sweeping reforms pushed by his young son, Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman, in an effort to transform the economy of the world's top oil exporter and open up its cloistered society.
