The Strong Lebanon bloc said Tuesday that “it is not in charge of forming the cabinet and it doesn’t want a role in it,” refusing being blamed for the obstruction, adding that the constitutional responsibility lies with the Prime Minister-designate and the President.
Following its weekly meeting, the bloc stated that there is no veto over the attribution of a sovereign portfolio to the Lebanese Forces party.
“We presented a vision on the electoral equation that resulted in obtaining 3 MPs in Chouf and Aley,” it noted.
“We are not inventing rules and we demand equity under one constitutional rule,” the bloc said.
The bloc said that the main challenge today is economic stressing that no jobs can be created without a proper economy.
Speaking on behalf of the bloc, MP Ibrahim Kanaan revealed that they took a decision over an integral vision for the economy, which will be discussed in the parliament and the government.
