Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea stressed that his party will not give up the Maarab agreement, noting that they will return to it every time.
“It is a 4-page agreement, whereby the last page only tackled the issue of the cabinet formation, where we agreed that in a 30-minister cabinet, the president will be represented with 3 ministers, while the rest will be divided between the Free Patriotic Movement and its allies on one side and the Lebanese Forces and its allies on the other side,” he explained, adding that they also agreed to form a joint parliamentary committee after the elections, tasked with defining the policies of the era.
“This is why we are committed to the Maarab agreement, which cannot be cancelled, unless both sides decide to do so,” he noted.
Geagea stressed that they will have balanced share in the cabinet and they will be able to have more effect in the course of events.
