MP Elias Hankash stressed Friday that the demand of the Kataeb party amid this difficult economic situation is forming a cabinet of experts to rescue the country.
In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, he explained that the Kataeb party did not show interest in partaking in the government, noting that they did not demand anything but to facilitate its formation.
He added that the parliamentary blocs have not proved that improving the situation of the country happens through the cabinet, stressing that the time has come to form an opposition within the parliament.
“The priorities of the current situation are economic, social and environmental, because our children and us are exposed to many diseases due to the polluted air, the garbage in the sea and random landfills,” he explained.
On the political and international relations, the deputy stated that these ties are essential, but “this does not mean to be dependent on certain agendas and interests.”
On the economic situation, Hankash declared that they launched the austerity policy initiative paired with practical austerity measures, emphasizing that “we cannot live as if the state is in affluence.”
