President Michel Aoun received Friday at the Presidential Palace in Baabda, the Vice President of the World Bank Group, Farid Belhaj, in the presence of Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Finance and Budget, MP Ibrahim Kanaan.
During the meeting, they discussed the ongoing cooperation between Lebanon and the World Bank, where Mr. Belhaj stressed the World Bank’s support for Lebanon and the efforts exerted by the President to achieve reform on all levels, mainly the financial sector.
Belhaj praised the legislation of the parliament, which are related to the decisions of Cedre conference, stressing the importance of passing budgets in Lebanon and abiding by them when applying them.
In turn, President Aoun thanked the World Bank on the cooperation with the Lebanese financial and administrative institutions, emphasizing that the fight against corruption will continue amid the implementation of necessary reform measures.
