Bou Assi: Refugees are victims not criminals
Caretaker Minister of Social Affairs Pierre Bou Assi said on Thursday that refugees constitute 30% of Lebanon's population.
“This is the highest rate in the world today,” he said during a conference organized CHREDO in Paris.
He also stressed that "Lebanon cannot bear this number,” adding that this issue “puts its future at risk."
“There is an existential danger, Lebanon, which we know will vanish if the displaced remain in the country,” stressed.
“The International community must understand that, they must return quickly to their country," he added.
Bou Assi concluded by asserting that the refugees are victims and not criminals.
