Rai from Bkerke: Lebanese unity is at jeopardy
Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai kicked off on Wednesday the consultative meeting for the Maronite leaders in Bkerke by confirming that the patriarchate’s seat is for all Lebanese.
“Our meeting today is for Lebanon and all Lebanese,” he added.
The patriarch said that one of the reasons of the current political crisis is the failure to implement the Taef accord and the constitution for more than a reason, adding that “many norms and practices were introduced to them.”
“The Lebanese people started to express its pain through protests,” he lamented.
Rai also noted that the unity of the Lebanese people is at jeopardy, calling on the leaders to start thinking together about the the role required from them as officials today.
