Beirut Declaration: International donors and Arab funds must unite to alleviate sufferings of displaced persons

Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League Hossam Zaki read on Sunday the “Beirut Declaration” issued by the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit.

The declaration called for the necessity of all international donors and Arab funds to unite in order to alleviate the sufferings of the displaced and to implement development projects in the host countries.

It also praised the initiative of the Emir of Kuwait to set up a fund to invest in technological fields with the participation of the private sector, calling on the Arab countries to support this initiative.

Zaki concluded by asserting the need to support the Palestinian people in the face of the Israeli aggression, stressing the right of return and compensation for the Palestinian refugees.
