Minister al-Hassan: Security situation in Lebanon is fully controlled
Minister of Interior Rayya al-Hassan stressed on Sunday that “the Lebanese security apparatuses confirmed their effectiveness and proved, along with the Lebanese army, the ability of the state and its legitimate institutions to assume their responsibilities in defending Lebanon and preserving its security and stability."
Al-Hassan’s comments were made during her speech at the 36th conference of the Arab Interior Ministers Council held in Tunisia.
The minister noted that the Syrian refugees influx caused by the war in Syria "constitutes a major economic, social and security challenge to the host countries, mainly Lebanon."
She also reiterated Lebanon’s insistence that the return of the displaced Syrians should be an Arab and International priority.
On another note, al-Hassan said that the security situation in Lebanon is “fully controlled.”
“All Arab brothers can rest assured that the doors of the Lebanese people are open to welcoming them all the time," she concluded by saying.
