US Pompeo meets with LAF Commander-[PHOTOS]

Lebanese Armed Forces Commander Majo General Jospeh Aoun met on Friday with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and his wife Suzanne.

 

The meeting was attended by US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State David Satterfield and US ambassador to Lebanon Elisabeth Richard.

 

Pompeo asserted to Aoun the US continued support for the Lebanese army which is a “strategic partner in the fight against terrorism.”

In turn, Aoun thanked the US side for its confidence in the army and for standing by its side in the face of terrorism.
