Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil said that “the capabilities of the state are decreasing,” noting that the situation can be changed by adopting development projects and regulating spending.
Speaking from the town of Markebta in the district of Donnieh during his tour, Bassil noted that Lebanon is heading towards a state of austerity in order to save the economy.
He also stressed the need review the budget, criticizing those who blame the state and say that the cabinet is not working.
“The truth is that the cabinet must take decisive decisions in the cases of electricity and garbage, as well as the second round of tenders,” he added.
