BDL Governor to LBCI: Available data does not indicate Lebanon on brink of bankruptcy

Banque Du Liban Governor Riyad Salameh told LBCI on Tuesday that “available data does not indicate that Lebanon is on the brink of bankruptcy.”

 

“I can confirm that in terms of the Banque du Liban’s assets and in terms of the banking sector’s assets," he added.

 

Salameh noted that “35% of the Lebanese public debt is in the BDL.”
