Minister al-Hassan during “Moto Ambulance” launch: This initiative will speed up emergency response

Moto Ambulance project has been launched on Wednesday by the Directorate General of Civil Defense, upon the invitation of Bank Audi and the United Nations Development Program and in cooperation with LBCI.

The Moto Ambulance initiative includes ambulatory motorcycles that will be used by Civil Defense teams to arrive as quickly as possible to an accident scene, in order to start first aid procedures for the injured, before the medical team arrives with an ambulance at the scene to complete the necessary procedures.

The Civil Defense center in Beirut has been equipped with 6 ambulatory motorcycles.

In this regard, Interior and Municipality Minister Raya al-Hassan said that these six motorcycles will be provided as a first phase of the program and will be followed by additional ones to the Civil Defense centers across the Lebanese regions, noting that they will allow the civil defense to respond to any emergency despite traffic jams that sometimes hinder the movement of ambulances.

She also declared that they will also discuss a mechanism to use the help of municipal police in the future, in cooperation with Beirut Governor and the Internal Security Forces, in order to improve traffic within Beirut.

On another note, al-Hassan praised the efforts deployed by Prime Minister Saad Hariri away from the media, in order to reach a solution for the issue of the budget.
