Geagea: No meeting will be held with Hezbollah, unless related to state’s institutions

Lebanese Forces Party leader Samir Geagea said on Tuesday that Lebanon enjoys a pluralistic system that should not be referred to as sectarianism; warning against tampering with the Lebanese regime to avoid posing a threat on Lebanon.

During a meeting in Maarab with a delegation from the Lebanese press editors' syndicate, headed by Joseph Al-Qasifi, Geagea ruled out any meeting with Hezbollah, explaining that “Hezbollah's party project is that of an entire Ummah, whereas the LF belongs to one nation and Hezbollah belongs to another.”

On another note, he described “the deal of the century” as a "rhinoceros deal,” stating that there can be no peace for as long as the US embassy has been moved to Jerusalem and the Golan has been annexed to the Israeli entity.

“They are promising the Palestinian of assistance, but they do not need assistance, the problem of the Palestinians is a national issue and not lack of assistance,” he said, adding that no one, other than the Lebanese themselves, can approve the resettlement of the Palestinians in Lebanon.

“If a comprehensive solution was reached for the Palestinian cause, the Palestinian nationals will leave Lebanon, and we tell the International Community and the world with complete honesty that there are between 250 and 270 thousand Palestinians who must be accommodated outside Lebanon,” Geagea stated.
