Deputy Speaker Elie Ferzli expressed surprise over the recent statements regarding the issue of the appointments, noting that no elections or appointments can be made without an exchange of interests between the political forces.
In an interview with LBCI’s Nharkom Said, he explained that the parliamentary session’s agenda has been sent incomplete due to an accident with the employee who had to be transported to the hospital, adding that the deputies were informed that the agenda was sent without adding the item related to the elections of the Constitutional Council’s members due to a technical error and the majority of the deputies agreed to move forward with the session.
Commenting on the issue of settling the construction violations, Ferzli revealed that the violations in Lebanon are a reality, noting that the violation must be prevented before it happens.
Concerning the law pertaining to the bank secrecy, Ferzli declared that pressures are being exerted to remove the law in order to target Lebanon’s financial status.
He stressed his objection to lifting the bank secrecy, reiterating that he completely supports this law until the end.
On another note, the deputy speaker emphasized the need to pass a new electoral law that guarantees hope and reassurance, pointing out that cooperation is underway among all political blocs.
On the resettlement of the Palestinians, Ferzli stated that there’s a unified Lebanese stance and a Lebanese consensus that Lebanon cannot bear the resettlement and the constant doubts raised over its positions regarding crucial issues.
