Labor Minister Kamil Abou Sleiman explained Tuesday that no decision has been issued by the ministry concerning the Palestinians or others, noting that “the ministry seeks to implement Lebanon’s labor law after a plan has been set in this regard.”
In a statement to LBCI, Abou Sleiman said that the Palestinians are exempt from the work permit fees, stressing that he spoke with the Palestinian ambassador in order to facilitate the procedures and issue the permits as soon as possible.
He stressed that the law will be implemented and all violations will be controlled by the inspectors.
“The reaction that arose is not understandable and the plan does not target the Palestinians and what has been said that it is related to the “deal of the century” is just ridiculous,” he said.
This comes as Palestinian refugees across Lebanese regions blocked the entrances of their camps in protest against said decision.
