MP Ibrahim Kanaan stressed that the Finance Committee amended 65 items out of 99, abolishing 7 items and amending 45, noting that the amendments were related to reduction in some expenses and a change to allocations of a number of administrations.
During the parliament session held to discuss and pass the 2019 budget, he explained that the Finance Committee reduced the allocations of the Council for Development and Reconstruction, the Supreme Council for Privatization, Ogero and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority while dedicating one billion LBP to the cooperative fund for the Mokhtars.
Kanaan called on the cabinet to start working on the 2020 budget draft law without delay to be submitted to the parliament within the constitutional deadline.
