Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil stressed that the Lebanese system is a need for the humanity as it is based upon the freedom of religion and belief, emphasizing the need to preserve it.
During his participation in the Second Annual Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom in Washington, Bassil said taking part in the security, judicial and administrative state apparatuses spreads reassurance among the factions of the society, adding that these apparatuses also become more fair and regulated.
"Lebanon is the country of coexistence and the only country in the region where religions take equal part in power," he stressed, pointing out that "Lebanon would not be the same if any of its components was absent.”
