Sit-in staged outside Beirut Justice Palace; lawsuits filed against al-Fakhoury

A number of citizens staged a sit-in on Monday outside Beirut’s Justice Palace, to protests against allowing Israeli agent Amer Elias Fakhoury to enter Lebanon, demanding stringent punishment for the former commander of Israeli enemy-linked Khiam prison in the south.

The committee representing the liberated prisoners from Israeli occupation jails had earlier filed a lawsuit against Fakhoury.

Chairman of the Legal Committee of the International Commission on Human Rights, attorney Maen al-Assaad also filed a similar lawsuit on charges of murder of detainees and torture of injured people, as well as hiding bodies of martyrs, living in enemy territories and holding an Israeli passport.
