Emirati Minister of Economy: Lebanon has potential to become a regional economic power

Emirati Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori expressed on Monday his aspiration to increasing investment and trade activities between Lebanon and the UAE.

“To achieve this goal, both countries need to continue dialogue and cooperation,” he said during the Lebanese UAE Investment Conference held in Abu Dhabi.

The minister pointed out that economic sectors in Lebanon have proven their ability to create important opportunities in terms of partnership and cooperation.

"Our companies with their expertise and success are interested in building sustainable partnerships with the Lebanese private sector and to work to remove obstacles,” he added.

The minister noted that “today's world is full of economic changes and challenges,”

“We believe that Lebanon has the potential to become an economic power in the region." He stressed.

Al Mansoori also noted that discussions in the conference will focus on how to develop the investment environment in partnership between the private and public sectors.

Talks will also focus on the agricultural sector and prospects of cooperation in environment, infrastructure, oil and gas in addition to the banking sector.
