Prime Minister Saad Hariri said Monday that “the blood of Rafik Hariri made the withdrawal of Syrian army from Lebanon possible.”
Commenting on Minister Gebran Bassil’s declaration of his intention to visit Syria, Hariri stated that “if the leader of the Free Patriotic Movement wants to visit Syria to discuss the return of the Syrian refugees, it is his business,” adding that he only cares about the result.
Hariri’s media office issued a statement in this regard, whereby he also stressed that the Syrian regime must not see this visit as an opportunity to return to Lebanon, since there is no trust in the regime’s intentions when it comes to the refugees return.
The PM emphasized that the country does not need any further disagreements, reiterating that the main goal is to put an end to the economic crisis.
