Protesters across Lebanon blocked roads with burning tires on Friday and marched in Beirut for a second day in demonstrations against the government and the recent decisions involving new taxes on the citizens.
The state-run National News Agency reported the following roads as blocked by protesters:
Halanieh - Naameh - Mkalles roundabout - Hayek crossroad - Sidon’s seaside Highway remained blocked by protesters.
Bireh and Kobayyet roads are also blocked; however, the region’s municipality head forbid protesters from setting tires ablaze.
Kfarabida Highway reopened after having been blocked by protesters.
Kamil Chamoun boulevard has been blocked with burning tires in both directions.
The International highway linking Beirut to Tripoli is fully blocked in both directions.
Ghaza - Jib Jennine Highway roads are currently blocked with burning tires.
Zouk Mkayel Highway remains blocked in both directions.
Akkar coastal roads are still blocked as well.
The international road between Bzalieh and Labweh remains blocked.
The International highway leading to Baalbek has been blocked again by protesters; consequently, the Russian Ambassador to Lebanon has cancelled his tour in the region.
