Students in Tripoli staged movements on Thursday, while protesters blocked several roads inside the city, mainly al-Bahsas Street with burning tires and parked their vehicles and trucks in the middle of the road.
A rally organized by young women and female students roamed the street of Abi Samra, while other group of demonstrators closed the outer gate of the federation of municipalities of al-Fayhaa, calling on the employees to leave the building.
They also staged a sit-in outside the station of Tripoli’s municipal police.
Demonstrators also blocked the main highway connecting Tripoli with Akkar with obstacles and trash bins, amid heavy deployment of army and security forces.
The city witnessed slow activity and traffic; shops, schools and universities opened their doors but few students and employees managed to arrive to their schools and offices.
