Caretaker Minister Finianos: We apologize for yesterday’s floods
Caretaker Minister of Public Works Youssef Finianos apologized on Friday to the Lebanese people who were trapped in their cars due to yesterday’s floods in the regions of Naamah and Khaldeh.

Finianos also said that the floods are due to the accumulation of water above layers of garbage in the Naamah landfill, which prevented the infiltration of the rain water.

He asserted that the Public Works Ministry opened an investigation into yesterday’s events and is following up on the issue.

“We are under the law and if we are responsible for what happened we will take the responsibility,” he concluded by saying.
