Protesters throw stones, metal barriers at security forces in downtown Beirut-[VIDEO]

Scuffles broke out on Saturday afternoon between security forces and a number of protesters near Lebanon’s Parliament.

 

The demonstrators threw stones, metal barriers, tree branches and fireworks towards the anti-riot police who used water cannons and teargas to disperse them.

 

This as the Internal Security Forces later said in a statement that its members are being violently attacked, urging “the peaceful demonstrators to stay away from the location where riots are taking place in order to preserve their safety.”
